Crossword

Why cant you give the number of words needed in the cryptic crossword, e.g. 4,4,3, as you used to do? It was correct in yesterdays edition, but today it has again been omitted. This cant be rocker science. I have heard that this is only a problem got iPad users, but please remember that we also pay for our subscriptions. Thank you.

Telegraph App

In the wake of Brexit I as an expat need in depth reporting and analysis of British politics. The Telegraph filled the need from a conservative viewpoint. The App is pretty good and finding relevant articles is quite quick. One drawback is that there is only one view, namely the replication of the print edition. The main drawback is that for some reason it is very power hungry. Reading for 30 minutes depletes power on my iPhone 6 by 25% or more.

Daily Telegraph

App will not open, just launches splash page and then crashes. So am unable to comment on its functionality, as it is it is not very useful.

Repeatedly crashes

The splash page opens and then crashes. This has only been the case over the past week or so. Prior to that this was a good app. The web site states that this fault was recognized and has been rectified but such is certainly not the case for me. At the moment I would prefer to give zero stars but have given two based on the earlier experience. I would love to be able to give five stars once the crashes have stopped!

It was a great app...

Now it is in fail mode. Move to trash.

Crazy price

The price is crazy. Theres nothing magic about an "app." Folks, theres a universal app on the iPad, its called "Safari." Fire it up, and go to the Telegraphs website, where you can get the full version of the Telegraph, 100 times more info, for free.

Annoying deception

Be careful: the app is free to download but to actually read an edition you have to make a purchase or buy a subscription. The Telegraph may well be worth paying for, but calling the app free is a bit sneaky.

Dont get suckered

The previous version was fine. This new version only works if you buy a subscription. I really regret updating, this is now awful, and I have had to delete it. How do I get the previous version back?

Was an excellent app, but now demands an unreasonable subscription ree

Newspapers used to have their paper and printing costs payed by subscribers, and earn their profit from advertisements. Now that the paper and printing costs are zero, all news should be entirely paid by ads. Demanding a fee is ridiculous. There are plenty of free news sources on the net. The dinosaurs at the Telegraph are going to go extinct.

Excellent

Anyone who calls this a deception simply failed to read the product description. It tells you up front what the costs will be so there is absolutely no deception here. It is an excellent source of up to the minute news and the price is fair. Anyone who says it should be free simply fails to recognize the fact that, in order to survive, quality media must charge something to cover the work it takes to put an issue together. It does not create itself.

Update helped with subscription but ...

...there are still many bugs that make using this app a bit annoying. - even with Internet connection on, the app constantly alerts the user that the connection is off, even while visually downloading a new issue. So, these alerts are wrong and misleading. - Opening the app will land you on the first issue of the day on which you installed the app, which means that you have to swipe to the right on and on and on and on ... until you reach the current issue. Each time you have to wait until the front page of an issue has downloaded before you can swipe on to the next and so on and so forth. This means, if you installed the app, say, 4 weeks ago, you will have to spend several minutes just swiping before you get to the current issue of the day.

Not loading

Latest iPad OS and telegraph for iPad latest version. It will not load on a regular basis. Touch the icon get "the telegraph" page for two min then reverts to regular iPad. This has been happening for about two weeks now. Reinstalled telegraph to no avail. About 1/6 times it might Load correctly. Dont want to keep on paying for this! Cheers. Chris

Excellent

Quite a god app, combines the benefit of reading one of the best newspapers in the world with a reasonable amount of dynamic content. Unlike some other newspaper apps this one is not over the top trying to be more of a video game than a newspaper. The only thing missing is some way to tap in to their more updated coverage (post printing of the paper) as one can on their website or using their iPhone app. That would make this even better but even as it is its exceptionally enjoyable and useful. Highly recommended!

Telegraph review

When your feeling grateful there is no reason to complain. The service of this app is excellent.

Good stuff

Mostly the app works well. Shame that much of the content on Sundays is never included but otherwise a reliably good read. The right wing content and "angry of Tonbridge Wells" articles are certainly entertaining

Not the print edition - tortoise startup

Good app but only provides what looks like an abbreviated edition of the Telegraph. Good to read when short on time. App itself is sluggish at start up, freezing (stalling) often. Has failed twice in 3 days to find and list the latest edition. Had to remove and reinstall app to get the current edition. Extras like the Jubilee magazine on Sunday are not available.

Truly painful - requires unusual commitment!

6 months ago the site had eventually become quite stable. Then the problems started again. It still loads much more slowly than other major newspapers and it requires a stronger wifi connection. Maybe once in five it wont load at all. Maybe once every two weeks I have to unload and reload the app. Recently (for a whole month while I was traveling) it required that I subscribe. When I tried to re-subscribe it told me that I had already subscribed. Etc.. Otherwise, the content is OK but somehow seems a bit dumbed down. I have persevered with this Telegraph ipad version, and suffered its consistent abuse, for over a year but I fear that my patience is almost exhausted.

Dr J. Collis

I am constantly amazed at the standard of journalism found in your newspaper. I am particularly impressed by the writing in the sports section. There see m to be less glitches in downloading lately All best Vancouver Canada

Great to get UK news overseas

I love that I can read the paper on my iPad living in Canada but get the UK version, I miss the reporting when overseas, particularly the Matt cartoons! I also like the to see the weekend papers. Thisis a great app and for £9.99 a month it is good value to keep in touch.

Telegraph weekly

Although I pay for the Telegraph Weekly, I have never been able to actually see it. Now if I could just find a way to stop paying for it.
